In India, Digital Transactions Move at Extraordinary Scale. Your Network Continuity Can Too.

Updated: 2026-09-24

Adaptive network continuity keeping digital payment services available across India

Digital Payments are Now Part of the Infrastructure... In India, online commerce isn’t just growing, it’s growing at an extraordinary scale. India’s Unified Payments Interface (UPI) processed more than 241 billion transactions worth approximately ₹314 trillion in FY2025–26, with transaction volume growing another 30% year over year. UPI now accounts for approximately 84% of India’s digital-payment transactions, with more than 700 banks participating in the system.1,2 That means connectivity has become increasingly intertwined with everyday commerce.

... And the Infrastructure isn’t always available. India doesn’t experience network disruption uniformly. Even as much of the country can remain fully connected, mobile internet can be unpredictably suspended within a particular state, district or community.4

In fact according to Internet Society, India has experienced the most documented shutdowns of any country since 2019 and specifically identifies businesses dependent on electronic transactions as particularly exposed.3

So Ask Yourself: As a FinTech provider, you can see the opportunity. But are you able to take advantage of it?

In a digital economy, geography doesn’t excuse failure. Customers don’t experience a regional internet restriction as a policy event, they experience it as a frustrating service stoppage. Even a local network outage can have major customer and operational impacts. At India’s transaction scale, this creates the potential for significant service delivery challenge.

With Forge, your service continues to operate. Psiphon Forge embeds adaptive network continuity directly into an application. Selected traffic can transparently use Psiphon’s multi-protocol network when conventional paths become filtered, throttled or otherwise degraded, while the underlying Forge library continues to evolve as network conditions change.

Built for Scale, Built to Work. India has built one of the world’s most successful digital-payment ecosystems. The opportunity for FinTech providers is no longer simply getting customers online, it’s maintaining service availability when local network connectivity is disrupted.

At this scale, the edge cases aren’t really edge cases anymore.
